Mumbai, June 28: Dev Anand, the evergreen superstar of Indian cinema, has been invited by the BBC Asian Network for an interview on July 7.
Well-known Indian-born compere Sonia Deol will conduct the interview at London’s Radio Theatre.
In his film career spanning over six decades, the 84-year-old actor has given super hit flicks including “Ziddi”, “Taxi Driver”, “Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai”, “Tere Ghar Ke Samne”, “Guide”, “Johnny Mera Naam”, “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” and “Jewel Thief”.
He has also played a vital role in launching fresh faces in the film industry.
The legend introduced Zeenat Aman as the mini-skirt sporting, pot-smoking girl in his directorial venture “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” and after the film’s success, she became an overnight sensation.
Another novel face that the multi-talented actor brought to the entertainment industry was Tina Munim.
Both the heroines enjoyed a very successful period in the Hindi film industry.
He is also famous as a story teller recalling his remarkable career in films and the stars he has worked with.
