Thiruvananthapuram, October 19: About 8,500 Haj pigrims will leave from airport to Saudi Arabia on October 21 as part of this year’s pilgrimage, according to official sources here today.
Preparation of travel documents of the pilgrims has been started by a Haj cell, consisting of 25 government employees, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Kareem.
The pilgrims were from Kerala, Lakashadweep and Mahe. A Haj camp had already started functioning at Karipur.
However, the service of special flights would also be available till November 3. The schedule of these flights have been prepared by the Central Haj Committee, the sources said.
