Islamabad, August 09: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday signed the summary scrapping the Local Government system in the country.
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had forwarded the summary proposing appointment of administrators by replacing nazims.
On the other hand, spokesman to the president Farhat Ullah Babar denied signing on summary by the president.
According to media reports, he said that no such summary has been signed by the president.
While talking to a private news TV, Sindh minster for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Durrani said that “Perhaps the president has signed the summery forward to him few days back.”
He said that the provincial governments will appoint administrators within one week following this approval.
