Mumbai, February 02: Bollywood producer Tahir Hussain, the father of superstar Aamir Khan, passed away today morning following a cardiac arrest, family sources said.
“He had a massive heart attack. Aamir and Kiran, who are in Los Angeles, are flying back. The funeral is likely to be tomorrow evening,” sources said.
Tahir is best known as the producer of blockbusters like ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ (1993), ‘Zakhmee’ (1975), ‘Anamika’ (1973) and ‘Caravan'(1973).
He had also directed Aamir for the first time in his directorial debut ‘Tum Mere Ho’ in 1990.
Tahir also acted in ‘Janam Janam Na Saath’ (1977), ‘Pyar Ka Mausam’ (1969) and ‘Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai’ (1961).
The filmmaker is survived by his wife and two sons, Aamir and Faisal, and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.
