Mumbai: Superstar Aamir Khan today said Eid brings back a flood of childhood memories when he used to celebrate the festival with his cousins and make small purchases with the ‘Eidi’ that he got from elders.
Wearing a crisp white Kurta-Pyjama, Aamir stepped out with his son Azad and wife Kiran Rao for the first time in front of the media on the occasion of Eid.
“Wish you all happy Eid on behalf me, Kiran and Azad. It is a happy day for us. It is a family time… relatives come and we have fun. We are going to my Ammi’s (mother’s) place,” Aamir told reporters here outside his house in suburban Bandra.
“Azad has started understanding what is Eid. The whole family meets today…it is moment of joy and happiness,” Kiran said.
During the press conference Azad, who was perched on his mother’s lap, kept smiling. Reminiscing his childhood days, Aamir said, “There are lots of memories of childhood of Eid. I don’t like to give Eidi… I like to take it from elders. Earlier we used to get Rs two or five and it was a big thing… We cousins used to compare it. We used to buy kites and fly,” Aamir said.
“I am training Azad for that. He has not got Eidi…(But) I will give it to him,” he said. The 50-year-old ‘PK’ star, however, refused to talk about the recent controvery of FTII and said, “Aaj ke din baat nahi karte hai (let’s not talk about anything else today)..Let’s stick to Eid.”
Aamir’s next release is “Dangal”.
