New Delhi, June 06: Noted film star Aamir Khan has been roped in by Tourism Ministry for its new cleanliness campaign.
The ‘3 Idiots’ star will feature in two films of 60 seconds each to be shot in Mumbai by Bollywood director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra of ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame.
In the films, the 45-year-old actor will appeal to people to keep public places like railway stations, airports, bus stops and tourism sites clean.
“We have got the permission from the concerned authorities for the shooting of these two ad films in Mumbai,” said a senior Tourism Ministry official, adding “the purpose is to launch an awareness campaign and sensitise the public to keep these places clean.”
Though neither Mehra nor Aamir will be charging any fee for the film, the ministry will have to bear the cost of shooting.
