New Delhi, December 13: Parliamentarians today remembered the martyrs of the Parliament attack at a solemn function held in the House with Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh leading the nation in paying tributes to those who laid down their lives in the terrorist attack on this very day eight years ago.
Among others, who attended the function and paid their floral tributes to the martyrs, included Leader of the Opposition L K Advani and UPA Chairman and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and several sitting and former MPs.
Secretary General of the Lok Sabha P D T Achary and officers and staff of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha Secretariats, and senior officials of security agencies also paid their homage.
A blood donation camp was organised at the Parliament House on the occasion, in which a large number of officers and staff from both the Secretariats, officers in the office of Ms Kumar and allied agencies donated their blood to commemorate the occasion.
