79 cases against 14 societies in AP: CID ADGP

The Central Investigation Department (CID) have arrested Bharat Prem Sadan organisation Chairman Gonugunta Prasad accused in a criminal case relating to Money Circulation scheme at Vijayawada, today.

On credible information, a team of officials raided a flat located at Lotus Land Mark in Vijayawada and arrested the Chairman and seized cash about Rs 2.10 lakh, 70 gm of Gold ornaments and two Tata Safari Vehicles from him, CID (AP) Additional Director General of Police Ramanamurthy said in a release here.

The organisation, registered in Tamil Nadu had been operating in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka also.

Four criminal cases (two in Nellore District and two in Khammam District) had been registered against the organisation, he said.

The cases registered in Nellore District were being investigated by the CID and the cases registered in Khammam District were being investigated by the Local Police.

The organisation was responsible for collection of huge amounts from the lower middle class people. The amount collected by the organisation in Nellore District itself was about Rs 45 crore through 29 main agents, the CID officer said.

The accused will be produced before the AJFCM Court at Gudur in Nellore District, Mr.Murthy added.

Seventy-nine cases were registered against 14 various societies in the state, including HIM Trust (Heavenly Inter Denominal Mission Trust), Bharat Prem Sadan, Youth & Strength Christian Welfare Association, Youth Alive Society, Trogopan Formers Society, New Vision Foundation, Little Lamb Bapaist Church Mission Trust, Jesus Preaches Association, Trinity Grace Ministry, Maranatha and Help to Poor International Trust. Center for Women Solidarity, RMP Infotech (Resource Money Power) and Online Survey World Organization, the CID chief said, adding 15 cases registered in Nellore, 19 in Guntur, 17 cases in Prakasam, eight cases in Kurnool, nine in Warangal, three in Khammam, two in Krishna and one case each in Chittoor, Mahaboobnagar, Adiliabad, Cyberabad, East Godavari and Karimnagar Districts are others societies against which complaint have been registered.

In all cases registered in various districts of the State, eight cases of Nellore, five in Prakasam, two in Warangal, one each in Guntur, Kurnool and Karimnagar Districts were taken over by CID for investigation, he said.

The main accused and Chairman of HIM Trust and some other agents have been arrested so far.

Teams were formed to investigate the cases and the investigation was being under progress, Mr Murthy added.
