7,311 missing children in Delhi yet to be traced

New Delhi, October 18: Around 30 per cent of 7,311 missing children from the capital who are yet to be traced are from Outer and North-East districts, according to official statistics.

Outer Delhi topped the list with 1,090 followed by North-East Delhi with 1,031, said the Zonal Integrated Police Network (ZIPNET).

Sultanpuri police station in Outer Delhi has the largest number of such cases with 218, closely followed by Gokulpuri of North-East Delhi with 209 cases, it said.

Other police stations from where large number of such cases were reported are Samaipur Badli (168), New Usmanpur (165), Narela (150) and Alipur (119).

The figures for police districts are as follows: South-East (889), South-West (811), West (804), East (778), North-West (680), South (467), Central (350), North (239) and New Delhi (75).

In February, Delhi Police had announced the setting up of a separate helpline for queries regarding missing children in the city.
