New Delhi:Nearly 600 students will enthral the audience during the Republic Day celebrations this year with colourful performances, including the popular dance form of Madhya Pradesh’s Gond Tribe marking the harvest season.
Their performance will include three items from the Directorate of Education, Delhi government, and South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur.
162 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pitampura, Delhi, will perform a dance based on the Indian tri-colour and themed ‘Tiranga Sakshi Hai’, which conveys how the national flag has been a witness to the glorious tales of freedom fighters, formation of Indian democracy, the endless affection of Indians, women empowerment and express their faith that India will re-emerge as a world leader with the power of knowledge.
Another 150 students of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chirag Delhi, will render a song and dance performance paying tribute to the youth of the country, who have taken up the cause of leading the country on the path of success and development.
‘Saila Karma’, a dance popular in Madhya Pradesh, will be performed by the students from South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur. Saila is the popular dance of the Gond Tribe of Dindori District in Madhya Pradesh. The tribal people perform this dance to celebrate the harvesting season.
Besides, students from Mount Abu Public School, Sector-5, Rohini, Delhi, will present a dance performance primarily based on the Assam Nritya Shail
