Hisar, March 13: Six members of a family, including two women, have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court here for murdering a villager in Budhakhera in the district over a petty issue in 2006.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Baljit Singh yesterday awarded life imprisonment to Jai Narain, his wife Kamla, sons Baldev and Dalbir, Roopa, wife of one of the sons and grandson Kuldeep after finding them guilty of murdering Sanjay on June 14, 2006.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7000 each in the case.The convicts will have to undergo further imprisonment of six months if they failed to pay the fine.
The court, however, aquitted one of the accused Bimla due to the lack of evidence.
