Meerut: Five Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Saharanpur’s Deoband town on Monday who were illegally staying there. Though Saharanpur police has not found any evidence linking them to any illegal activity yet, the probe is on.
As reported by ToI, the Bangladeshi nationals were doing menial jobs like stitching and weaving.
According to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Saharanpur Dinesh Kumar Prabhu, all those arrested were friends and had come to the country in a span of five years.
Ismail came first five years ago, then three years ago Rafiquddin joined him. Muneer arrived 18 months ago, while Ahmed came seven months ago.
Following input from local intelligence unit, they were arrested from their location near Railway Road in Saharanpur.
A case has been registered against the 5 Bangladeshi nationals under section 119/19 of the foreigners act, 1946.
