New Delhi: An international kite festival organised by Delhi Tourism department today began in Dwarka, with professional kite flying experts from India and abroad exhibiting their skill and leaving the visitors delighted.
The three-day festival held at Dwarka’s DDA Ground was inaugurated by Delhi Tourim Minister Kapil Mishra, who said these festivals provide people an opportunity to unite.
International kite flyers from Germany, Korea, the US, China, Thailand, Ukraine, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands and Malaysia participated and demonstrated their talent during the fourth Delhi International Kite Festival.
Expert kite flyers from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jaipur, Chennai, Kerala, Punjab and Delhi also displayed their skills on the first day of the festival.
Colourful kites dotted the skyline but the highlights were a kite trail of nearly 150 kites and night kite flying.
During a special demonstration, professional flyers demonstrated the art of making kites. Visitors were excited over the presence of mehndi artistes, candy-floss makers, bio-scope machines, caricature artistes and tattoo artistes.
The venue decorated with large and miniature kites also excited the visitors.
