Hyderabad: A four-year-old Nursery student on Monday was allegedly beaten by a teacher at his school after his parents failed to pay the fee in time. The child had returned home wailing, with bruises on his back and legs. Being very small, he could not understand why was he thrashed, his parents said.
The child was taken to the doctor on Monday night as his injuries were serious. On Tuesday, the family members and activists staged a protest outside the school’s premises. Members of the Student Federation of India (SFI) were also present. When the matter severed, police reached the school and managed the situation, TNM reported.
“The victim is a student of Krishnaveni Talent School in BN Reddy Nagar of Meerpet. On Monday, he was thrashed by school teacher Swaroopa for not paying the fees. His father is a plumber,” child rights activist Achyuta Rao, who helped the boy’s parents lodge a police complaint, told TOI.
Meerpet police have registered a case (Crime Number 273/ 2018) under Sections 324 and 506 of the IPC and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
