Hyderabad, June 10: The three-day politburo meeting of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) commenced at MB Bhavan, party’s state headquarters, here today.
Central party leaders, including party General Secretary Prakash Karat, Politburo member Sitaram Yechuri, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, West Bengal party unit secretary Biman Bose and State leaders including state General Secretary B V Raghavulu attended the meeting while former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee skipped the meeting.
According to party sources, the meeting will discuss various issues including organisational issues, party’s debacle in West Bengal and present political situation in the country.
The meeting will also take a decision on taking back former Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan in the politburo, the sources added. Mr Achutanandan was removed from the politburo a couple of years back.
