Close on the heels of GHMC elections to be conducted by Jan 31 next year, Telangana Government today offered to regularize lands and buildings under illegal occupation of people in HMDA, GHMC and municipalities and others areas in two months. While the slum dwellers could pay a meager amount of Rs 5 per sq yard, others have to pay more and the regularization is likely to fetch Rs 1000 cr revenue for the government exchequer, it is learnt.
Regularisiation is meant for the welfare of the poor and slum dwellers to get their lands and structures on their own in six months of time, Commercial Taxes Minister T Srinivas Yadav said at a press conference at Secretariat here on Monday. Yadav headed a committee on the issue and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao approved its recommendations. He said regularization is a good news for people who apply online by paying Rs 10,000 else penal action will be taken, he warned. Illegally occupied layouts, plots and buildings or structures till October 28 will be considered for regularization and the process will be completed in six months.
Building Regularisation charges include Rs 12,500 for 600 sq mt, Rs 25,000 for 601 to 1200 sq mt, Rs 40000 for 1201-2000 sq mt, Rs 60000 for 2000 sq mt and above and charges vary for domestic and commercial buildings. Layouts and plots regularization charges are – Rs 200 for 100 sq mt, Rs 400 for 101 to 200 sq mt, Rs 600 to 301-500 sq mt, Rs 750 to 500 sq mt and above and Rs 5 per sq mt in slums. Those illegal layouts and buildings after cut off date of Oct 28 will face criminal cases and action through enforcement wing, he said. (NSS)
