Baghdad, September 10: At least 25 people were killed and 43 injured in a truck bombing attack in Mosul on Thursday, security sources said. A truck loaded with explosives exploded early morning in the Kurdish-dominated Wardak village, in eastern Mosul, the source added.
Security forces defused a nearby second truck bomb before it could be detonated, the source added. The explosion damaged more than 12 houses.
Some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, Mosul and its environs are the most ethnically and religiously diverse of Iraq’s regions and have been the scene of numerous deadly attacks.
