New Delhi, June 24: A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her south Delhi residence, police said Thursday.
“The deceased has been identified as Neelam. The incident was reported in Dwarka yesterday (Wednesday) night,” said a police official.
“A week ago, Neelam along with her family had gone to see a boy for her marriage but she didn’t approve of him,” said the officer.
“We are investigating the case and trying to ascertain whether she was being forced to marry the boy chosen by her family,” added the officer.
