Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy today said the State government has supplied 1800 metric tons of fodder seed across the State under subsidy keeping in view the fodder scarcity in the State.
Responding to questions raised by MLAs Ramesh Chennamaneni, Chilumula Madan Reddy, Gadari Kishore Kumar, Anjaiah Yelganamoni, Challa Vamshichand Reddy and Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy during Question Hour in the Assembly on Sunday, Pocharam said Vijaya Dairy milk procurement from farmers has risen from one lakh liter to 4.5 lakh liters due to the incentives. The government was initiating steps to help the dairy industry for the benefit of DWCRA women.
The State government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the chairmanship of the Agriculture Minister to study the thrust areas for overall development of Dairy industry, he said, adding that the issue of giving incentive of Rs 4 per liter to other dairy farmers on par with Vijaya dairy farmers, the government entrusted the issue to the Cabinet Sub-Committee. Based on the Cabinet Sub-Committee report, suitable decisions will be taken by the Cabinet in due course and the additional financial burden on the State exchequer will be worked out based on the decisions taken by the State government, he said. The Minister also said the government was supplying milk analyzers to all milk centers. (NSS)
