New Delhi, January 19: Three teenagers abducted an 18-year-old girl of their college, raped her for two hours in a moving car and dropper her off, threatening to kill her if she told anyone.
Police arrested the trio on Sunday, hours after the girl summoned the courage to tell her family, three days after she had been assaulted. The boys drove around Raj Nagar Extension in Kavi Nagar, which houses the district police headquarters and courts, taking turns to rape her.
The victim’s family said there were four boys in the car. But police maintained there were three and that the victim had not identified anybody else.
Police said the girl, a student of Class XI at MS Inter College, was sitting in the fields in Sikrod village with a friend on Wednesday afternoon, when a car with tinted windows pulled up. Nitin Dagar (18), his cousin Ankit Dagar (19) and Monu alias Mohit (18) got out of the car and chased away the girl’s friend, who fled on his motorcycle. The three then forced her into the car and drove around till 4.15pm, raping her repeatedly. They threatened her with knives against telling anyone and dropped her some distance from the college.
“My daughter came back on Wednesday evening with a cut on her lip, and looked petrified,” said the victim’s father, who works as a supervisor in an industrial unit. “She was so scared that, despite all our reassurances, she did not tell us that she had been raped until late on Sunday evening. We went to the Kavi Nagar police station and filed a report.” A medical examination confirmed rape.
One of the accused was a classmate of the victim’s, the others were in Class X and XII. All three boys come from affluent homes, police said. The car, a white Swift, had been gifted to Ankit on his birthday last year by his family. Nitin owns some 150 bighas of orchards.
Police have registered a case of kidnapping and rape against the trio. “My daughter had said there were four assailants. But, the police have nabbed three… She does not know who the fourth was,” the girl’s father said.
“If there was a fourth, the victim has not told us about it, nor identified the accused,” a police officer said.
