Hyderabad, January 25: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl, who got pregnant before marriage, was allegedly killed by her parents who later removed the foetus, police said today.
The incident took place late last night in Guvvalagutta, a remote village in this district.
The girl was allegedly stabbed by her parents and relatives who later cut open the womb, removed the foetus and buried it along with her body, District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar told PTI.
“After the incident came to light, our officers went to the spot, but the villagers prevented them from exhuming the body. We will exhume it tomorrow,” he said.
Police have registered a case of rape and murder and further investigations were underway, the SP said, adding they were trying to trace the man who impregnated the minor.
