Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today said the GHMC has so far demolished 150 unauthorized constructions in “Operation Demolition” drive in all the circles.
The Mayor said the drive will continue for some more days. The GHMC, along with various line departments are coordinating and taken up the demolitions on priority, he said. The GHMC has identified 3,639 vacant and unallocated JNNURM / RAY houses for rehabilitation of poor people affected by removing of encroachments on nalas and lakes.
The houses identified area wise are: 1. Nandanavanam- Karmanghat-178, Gajularamaram – Qutbullapur-272, Keshav Nagar, Transist Unit Financial district – 256, Ameenpur, Rameshwaram Banda, Medak District- 2640, Uppuguda, Kandikalgate, Bandlaguda – 100, Qutbullapur, Bahadurpally-65, Bandlaguda, Survey No. 83-12, Shamshabad Phase 5-93, Bandlaguda Suvey No. 128, Kandikalgate-23 altogether – 3639 houses identified.
The localities and areas where demolition work was in full swing are (Unauthorized constructions on Nalas): Yapral, Bhagatsingh Nagar, Maruthi Nagar at Chintal, Gajularamaram, HMT Colony, Suraram, Madinaguda, Chandanagar, Diptisagar – Madinaguda, Manjeera Nagar at Chandanagar, RTC Colony, Madinaguda, Shiridi Sai Nagar – Malkajgiri, Mallapur Maruthi nagar, Chakripuram at Kapra, NMDC Colony – Malkajgiri
Illegal constructions: Alwal Hills, Gandhi Nagar, Bhagat Singh Nagar at Chintal in Qutbullapur Circle, BK Guda, Brundavan Colony – Nizampet, Padma Colony, Nallakunta, Ameerpet, Indira Nagar – Gachibowli, Allapur – Kukatpally, Venkateshwara Colony – Hasthinapuram. (NSS)
