As directed by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, the Central, North and West Zone Task Force personnel conducted a special drive against boozing in public places and also on Gaming Dens.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad, has stated that arrested persons by consuming alcohol in public places were becoming a menace to the society due to abrasive, unruly and indecent behavior causing disturbance to public especially women and children in the limits of Central, North and West Zones. He said a total of 33 cases were booked and 159 persons were arrested.
He also said raids were conducted on Gaming dens, which were allowing the people to play card by betting money in huge quantity in private residential houses/flats and booked 15 cases and arrested 148 persons and seized a cash of Rs 19,45,820 from their possession.
The special drive was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police M. Mahender Reddy, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force N. Koti Reddy, (Central, North and West Zones) led by A. Bhasker, A.P. Anand Kumar and Y. Prakash Reddy, Inspectors and their staff. (NSS)
