HYDERABAD: A minor, said to be a big fan of a city-based cricketer Mohammed Siraj allegedly hacked his social media accounts.
The hacker turned out to be a 14-year-old boy, who is was familiar to the cricketer’s family have not done much mischief, except to send ‘I Love You’ messages.
The incident came to light on Tuesday after the pacer’s friends contacted him about the ‘I Love You’ messages sent from his social media account.
He then approached Cyber Crime sleuths to lodge a complaint about the mishappening.
Police immediately swung into action and traced the teenage hacker.
“The hacker gave a cell phone number as the new password to access social media accounts of Siraj. We obtained the details of the cell phone number and realised that it was being used by a 14-year-old boy from Begumpet, who is the son of a watchman,” an investigating officer said, reported Times Of India.
The hacked social media accounts of Siraj, includes his Facebook, Instagram, Gmail and Twitter, a Cyber Crime official confirmed.
Siraj recently made his international debut in T20 cricket matches played against New Zealand.
Siraj also played for Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) season and was bought for `2.6 crore.
