12% reservation for Muslims, pressure continues on Govt. – Resolution passed in Congress meeting in Nizamabad

Hyderabad: A large meeting was held by the Minorities Dept. of Congress party at Nizamabad to create awareness for 12% reservation for Muslims. A resolution was passed unanimously in the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Sameer Ahmed, District President of Minorities Department of Congress, Nizamabad. Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, MLC, Khaja Fakuruddin, President of Minorities Department of Congress, Mr. K.R. Suresh Reddy, Former Speaker, Mr. Tahir bin Hamdan, District President of Congress, Nizamabad were the guests of honour. Mr. Tahir presented the resolution which was passed unanimously.

 

Mr. Shabbir criticized the Govt. for not implementing its election promise. He also told that the Govt. of Telangana did not appoint an advocate to pursue the case of reservations in Supreme Court. The present Advocate General of Telangana, Mr. Rama Krishna Reddy had opposed earlier for 4% reservations. He pointed out that on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day Urdu was overlooked in publicity banners. Last year, a budget of Rs. 1100 crore was allocated but only Rs. 350 crore was spent. He demanded judicial powers to Wakf Board.

 

Mr. Suresh Reddy in his speech told that Congress Party would fully support 12% reservation for Muslims. Ms. A. Lalitha, MLC requested Congress workers to communicate the failures of the present TRS Govt. Mr. S.K. Afzaluddin, Secretary of Congress advised the Congress workers to struggle in a planned manner. Mr. Niranjan, Secretary of Congress Party told that the party will not overlook the genuine workers. Mr. Sameer Ahmed in his speech told that the struggle would continue till resolutions are provided.
