Strengthen gram panchayats to solve problems of people: Jupally

Underscoring the need for providing employment opportunities to the rural youth by providing them required training, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has said the gram panchayats should achieve self-sufficiency and recognize the needs of the people in the grama sabhas and transparently solve the problems.

Speaking at a workshop here on Saturday on “Strengthening Panchayat System and Rural Development for Achieving Self-Sufficiency of the villages through transparent implementation of plans based on needs”, Jupallly Krishna Rao directed the officials to conduct grama sabhas to ascertain the problems and find solutions on the spot and implement a plan of action. “Sarpanches and officials should work in tandem to implement them with perfect plans. He also said the fruits of welfare schemes should reach the target groups to achieve inclusive growth.

“The Village Panchayats should chalk out plans at Grama Sabhas and make use of funds released by 14th Finance Commission for people’s welfare. Mostly the villages face problems such as drinking water, education, health, power, roads, sanitation and others which should be immediately addressed to”, he said.
