The arrested, P Sreenu alias Chubul Sreenu, a fruit vendor from Sitaphalmandi and R Chenna Keshava Rao of Neredmet, brought the contraband from Warangal and were planning to sell it at a higher price here when Task Force sleuths, on reliable information, took them into custody.
Task Force additional DCP M Srinivasulu said Sreenu used to procure ganja from an unknown person at Warangal and sell the same in the city at a higher price. Five days back, he bought 11- kilo ganja from Warangal at Rs 3,000 per kilo and planned to sell it for Rs 5,000 per kilo. He stored the ganja in his house.
As he could not sell the ganja on his own, he took the help of Chenna Keshava Rao offering him money and both came near Vijaya Diary Farm at Tarnaka searching for prospective customers.
They brought the ganja packed in five plastic bags and were waiting to sell it away when they were caught. The duo along with the ganja and the scooter was handed over to the OU police station for further action.
