Bundi (Rajasthan), April 18: A 105-year-old man has sought job under the national rural employment guarantee scheme in the district, leaving the authorities pondering over his fitness to take up the work.
Ranjeet Gurjar of Galliyakunwa village had yesterday submitted an application to Nainwa panchayat samiti office with form number 6 and job card for employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).
His application to Modesa gram panchayat perplexed the panchayat samiti officials as the applicant was too weak to work and the guidelines of the Act ensure 100 days employment to every jobless.
Now, the panchayat samiti has sought directions from the higher authorities in this matter.
Modesa gram panchayat sarpanch Sheer Singh Banjara said the Gurjar was too weak to walk. He had been abandoned by his sons and wanted to work to make both ends meet.
