Main Accused in Rly Jobs Racket Bhagavathula Lalithamma Arrested

In spite of the warnings being issued by the Railway Board and the Police about cheating in the name of jobs, some unemployed youth are falling a pray to the tactics of unscrupulous elements. A case of cheating of the unemployed youth by promising them jobs of Ticket Collector, Assistant Station Master, Section Engineers and Gangmen in Eastern Railways, Kolkata, was unearthed by the police. The culprits Bhagavathula Lalithamma and Chandrasekhar, collected huge amounts ranging from Rs.7 lakhs to Rs.10 lakhs, in conspiracy with Dupattla Sashibhushan Rao and a gang from West Bengal, by issuing fake appointment orders to the victims.

Lalithamma and Chandrasekhar in association with Sashibhushan Rao induced Patruni Raghu and other unemployed youth saying that they would arrange jobs in Eastern Railway, Kolkata under Railway Ministry quota, collected huge amounts (nearly Rs.1.30 crores) from about 26 job aspirants, took them to Bandel town, 20 kms away from Kolkata, trained them by issuing fake appointment orders for one month. On coming to know of the cheating, one of the victims Patruni Raghu

lodged a complaint with CCS, DD, Hyderabad.

Sashibhushan Rao was already arrested and he exposed that the main accused are Lalithamma and Chandrasekhar. Lalithamma was arrested yesterday at Osmanshahi, Afzalgunj here. The accused sent the victim-candidates, after training, to their homes asking them to get MRO certificates, residence certificate etc and the remaining balance amount. The accused also created fake website, generating fake appointment orders. The accused provided training for the victims at fake camp in Kolkata and fled away with the money by switching off their cell phones.

Accused Lalithamma was also involved in similar other cases at Illandu of khammam district, Proddutur of Kadapa district and Musheerabad in Hyderabad.

Efforts are on to nab the other accused involved in the crime. The case is being investigated by V. Kalesha Vali, ACP under the supervision of Jt. CP, DD, Hyderabad and Addl.CP. (Crimes), Hyderabad.(NSS)
