Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government would finalise the site for performing the foundation laying ceremony for its capital in the next few days, state Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be attending the foundation stone laying ceremony on October 22, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had said.

The Master Plan for the capital city of Amaravati, coming up in the Vijayawada region, would get its final shape soon, an official release quoted Narayana as saying.

The Singapore government agencies have prepared the Master Plan for the capital city.

Narayana said the state government has obtained inputs from experts in the country on the master plan submitted by Singapore government and it has been sent to Singapore officials for a final version.

The state government would start some government offices at Medha Towers building near Vijayawada as part of its plans to shift administration from the common capital of Hyderabad to its permanent capital region, he said.

The government is considering to use the technology of raising a 30-storeyed building in just 3 months which is available in Singapore and China, Narayana added.
