ZP CEO, Asst EE in ACB net for taking bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested the Assistant Executive Engineer of NP Kunta mandal of Anantapur district for demanding and accepting bribe.

According to the ACB, the accused officer, Perusetla Tulasi Prasad (49), was caught red handed at Kadiri Town, when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant Y Keshav to forward M-Book pertaining to the construction of culvert works completed by the complainant.

The bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 was recovered from him. He has been arrested and is being produced before the IInd Additional Special Judge of SPE & ACB Cases, Kurnool.

In another case, the Chief Executive Officer of Kakinada Zilla Praja Parishad in East Godavari distict, K Jaya Raju, was arrested by the ACB on Monday evening, when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 30,000 from the complainant M Dharma Rao, Civil Contractor of Mummidivaram, for further processing the work bills and for issuance of cheque relating to the works done by the complainant.

The bribe amount of Rs 30,000 was recovered from the middle of the plastic folder files placed on the AO’s Office table in the chamber of CEO. The relevant documents were seized. The Accused Officer was arrested and being produced before the ACB Court at Vijayawada.

Both the cases are under investigation. (INN)
