Hyderabad, October 21: At variance with the implementation of shops and establishment act in the twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad the shop owners were found violating the regulation.
Commissioner of Labour D Srinivasulu while announcing zonal weekly off for business establishments in the twin cities from October 18 had warned of strict action against non implementation of the rule. In spite of that when the past three days’ i.e. Monday Tuesday and Wednesday zonal level holidays were reviewed it has been learnt that no one is implementing the act.
Overlooking the restriction of the rule the businessmen are carrying out the usual business regardless of the fact that they were permitted to do business on Sunday instead of weekly off.
Business establishment and businessmen are trying to acquire double benefit from it even though the department of labour had announced penalty on first violation, double penalty on second violation and imprisonment besides penalty on the third violation.
