Ziyarat of Jannati Darwaza at Masjid Phool Bhag begins

A large number of Hyderabadi Muslims visit Ajmer Shareef every year on the occasion of ‘urs’ but very few people know that the Jannati Darwaza of Mazar-e-Shareef of Hazrat Khaja Moinuddin Chishti had been brought to Hyderabad on the direction of Nawab Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Bahadur.

Coincidentally construction work was going on at the dargah at that time, hence by presenting a door made up of silver worth 55857 rupees (which is located at the southern side of Dargah, popularly known as Buland darwaza or Hyderabadi Nizam Darwaza) and other offerings in exchange for Jannati darwaza, the wooden door Jannati Darwaza was obtained. Thus the Jannati darwaza present in the court of Khaja Ghareeb annawaz was shifted to Hyderabad. The door was right away brought to Masjid Phool Bagh located at Laldarwaza and Mahboob Ali Pasha built a chaukhandi to place the door.

The door is kept open for visitors at the time of ‘urs’ of Hazrat Khaja Ghareeb an Nawaz. A large number of non Muslims also visit to have a glimpse of the door.
