Zidane hails Real’s efforts during Barcelona drubbing

London : Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has heaped praise over his side, saying he was extremely proud to see the efforts made by the players during their 2-1 La Liga triumph over Barcelona at Camp Nou.

With the win, Real also ended Barcelona’s 39-game unbeaten streak and reduced the gap to three points at the top of the La Liga table.

“Very proud of what the players did, this is not an easy ground, I’m very happy with everything, not just the result,” Zidane was quoted as saying by goal.com.

The German said that Real displayed an all-round performance and played an enormous game against extremely good team.

Zidane insisted that his side made a dreadful start but somehow managed to end well against the hosts.

“When I see us like that, united, giving everything for your team-mates, for a coach that is the best. I liked everything about my team in attack and defence. We made a huge effort against very good players,” he said.

Describing the win as a turning point, Zidane said that he hopes the win would help in boosting his side’s confidence for the upcoming games.

They will now lock horns against Eibar in their next Premier League on April 9. (ANI)
