Zakat plays an important role in the formation of a pious society

(Siasat News) It is the blessing of Allah (SWT) that He has made arrangement for good counsel for His creatures. There are five tenets of Islam which includes Zakat (alms giving). Islam is a natural religion. Allah (SWT) has revealed clear instructions for every walk of life. How to get wealth or materials and how to spend it. Allah (SWT) has ordained to pay Zakat. In the beginning of Islamic emergence, people became prosperous due to Zakat to such an extent that those who were receiving Zakat became the givers of Zakat in due course.

Allah (SWT) has prescribed 2.5 percent of the income to be given as Zakaat. These thoughts were expressed by Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami of Jubilee Hills Area, while addressing a gathering. He told that the prosperity of the society depends on payment of Zakat.

Collective management of Zakat can bring about a change in the economic status of the Muslims.

During the caliphate period of the second Caliph Hazrath Omer Rz., the Governor of Yemen wrote to him that there is no one to receive Zakaat. It means that all the people were prosperous and rich.

During the period of Caliph Hazrath Omer Bin Abdul Aziz Rz., the collection of Zakat was so enormous that with this amount, hospitals, travelers’ houses were constructed and financial assistance was given to those who were not able to perform marriage. Widows and unemployed persons were also given monetary help. Later, they became Zakat givers.

In our society, we observe that those who come to take Zakat continue to be poor and their future generations also come to receive Zakat even after the lapse of decades. He impressed the need to organize collective management of Zakat.
