ZAK urges KCR to ensure complete disbursement of minority budget

KCR government has allocated a budget of 1030 Cr for minority welfare in the state which is welcomed by all quarters but unfortunately the budget earmarked for minorities is never utilised totally and is often returned to government treasury.

Keeping this in view Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan sent a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and called his attention towards the issue. While expressing happiness over allocation of 1030 Cr. for minority welfare he also expressed apprehension over whether the budget would be completely disbursed till March 2015 or not?

Mr. Zahed Ali Khan advised Chief Minister to seriously consider over the matter and suggested to relax rules and simplify the procedure for programmes and schemes related to minorities for effective implementation of minority schemes and complete disbursement of minority budget. He also called CM’s attention towards an important issue of Muslims. He stated in his letter addressed to chief minister that there are many such youth among minorities who have completed professional courses and wish to go abroad for higher education. Some of them have even got admission in foreign universities, however they are unable to pay fee which goes in lakhs. He advised the CM to provide them financial aid on the lines of Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi scheme started for SC/ST students.
