Government presented cash prizes to a number of artists during Jashn-e-Telangana but it sadly ignored Warsi family which took Qawwali art to its zenith, said Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan during his presidential address on the occasion of Mahfil-e-Sama held by Door Darshan Yadgiri Hyderabad, in collaboration with Siasat Daily and Samaj Darpan.
The Mahfil was held in connection with Jashn-e-Telangana at Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan auditorium, King Kothi in which Warsi brothers presented Kalam for two hours.
Speaking further Mr. Zahed Ali Khan told that the family of Aziz Ahmed Khan Warsi is serving the field of qawwali singing through three generations. He announced that if Warsi brothers are not given cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh by the government within a week, he himself would present Warsi brothers Rs. 1 lakh cash prize.
