ZAK stresses the need for financial prudence in wedding ceremonies

By just cutting off one item from the menu served in grand marriage party dinners, marriage of a poor Muslim girl can be arranged. By avoiding extravagance in parties which aims just to show off, the saved amount if spent on educating boys and girls will result in multi-facet benefits. These views were expressed by Mr. Zahed Ali Khan, Editor Siasat daily, addressing the gathering as chief guest at ‘Du Ba Du’ programme held at Almas Function Hall, Mahboob Nagar.

The programme was conducted jointly by Siasat daily, Muslim Development Forum and Rahbar Rishta Society, Mahboobnagar. Continuing his motivating speech Mr. Zahed Ali Khan told that MDF conducted a survey in Hyderabad 4 years ago which revealed that 30000 girls of marriageable age are anxiously waiting for alliance at their parents’ home.

He told that he himself saved Rs 5 lakh at the time of his son’s Valima Ceremony and the same amount was spent for installation of shade at Masjid Bagh-e-Aamma, Hyderabad. He asserted that the life-style of Muslims in Bhatkal is worth emulating who arrange simple marriages.

Mr. Abid Siddiqui chairman Islah-e-Muashera revealed that 16 Du Ba Du programmes have been conducted so far.

Managing editor Siasat Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, president MDF Mr. Mohammed Yousuf, Mr. Khaja Moinuddin, Mr. Abdul Qadeer and others also graced the occasion.
