Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan exhorted the Urdu writers and poets to highlight burning social issues and vices through their pen. It is the responsibility of Urdu poets to expose the politicians and the so-called social and religious leaders who exploit people through different ways, he said. In this connection Mr. Khan praised Hindi poets who have a sense of social issues.
Mr. Zahed Ali Khan was addressing a literary session held by Idara Hamari Manzil on the occasion of release of poetic compilation of noted poet late Syed Mohammed Vazeer Aawaaz Jaleeli “Aawaaz Columns’ at Golden Jubilee Hall, Siasat premises, Abids. He urged the Urdu poets to cover social evils like dowry, extravagance etc in their poetry and create awareness in the society.
