Hyderabad, August 26: Siasat has the privilege of offering Social Service whenever Muslim Ummah was in trouble. It was due to the efforts of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan that Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh & the Home Minister had to intervene to solve the Muslim problems of our state. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy inviting his attention for payment of compensation to the Muslim youths who were arrested after the Makkah Masjid bomb blast. In his letter, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan pointed out that the innocent muslim youths were falsely implicated in bomb blast case.
They were arrested by the police and they were subjected to harassment by the police. On the representation of Major Ghouse Mohiuddin Quadri of ‘Help Hyderabad’ National Minorities Commission made six recommendations. Out of these, four are important.
1. Rehabilitation by providing jobs
2. Payment of Rs. 3 lakh as compenstiaon
3. Deduction of compensation amount from the salaries of police officers and
4. Issuing of good conduct certificates to the Muslim youths.
He pointed out to the C.M. that as per his statement given on 5th December 2010, it was revealed that blasting of bomb in Makkah Masjid is an act of Hindu fundamentalists. He asked the Govt. to apologize and pay compensations to the Muslim Youths. He requested the C.M. to rehabilitate the affected Muslim youths by providing them Govt. jobs. It may be noted that Mr. Zahid Ali Khan & Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan with the active support of ‘Anhad’ and other organizations had organized a public tribunal in 2008. the tales of police atrocities were presented in the tribunal. Mr. Wajahat Habeebullah, Chairman, Mr. National Minorities Commission had also visited Siasat two months back and met the victims. Mr. Ravi Chandra the Advocate Commissioner appointed by A.P. Minorities was also provided an opportunity by Siasat to meet the members of the family of the victims.
