Zahid Ali Khan felicitates Ambassador designate Ausaf Sayeed

Hyderabad: Indian Ambassador designate for Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed called on the office of Siasat Urdu Daily yesterday and met Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily.

In the meeting, various issues pertaining to India and Saudi Arabia, especially NRIs were discussed.

It may be mentioned that Dr. Aysaf Sayeed worked in Jeddah as Consul General of India twice. He hoped that he would be successful in strengthening bilateral relations of India and Saudi Arabia. He also assured that he would take initiative for setting up Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Hyderabad for which Govt. of Saudi Arabia has already agreed in principle.

It may be mentioned that IFS Officer of 1989 batch, Dr. Ausaaf Sayeed hails from Hyderabad. He worked as the Passport Officer in Hyderabad. He also served as Indian High Commissioner for Seychelles recently.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan congratulated Dr. Ausaaf Sayeed on his appointment as Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and said that it is a matter of pride not only for the people of Hyderabad but also for lakhs of NRIs working in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Ausaaf Sayeed will take charge as Ambassador on 28th April at Riyadh.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and Mr. Amer Ali Khan expressed their good wishes and felicitated him. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan said that Saudi Arabia and India have a long history of relations.

Expressing his sentiments, Dr. Ausaaf Sayeed told that he is happy that Govt. of India has entrusted him this important responsibility and said that this is his third posting in Saudi Arabia for which he feels that he is fortunate.

He also said that as Ambassador of India, he would give top priority to resolve the issues of NRIs. He declared that the doors of Indian Embassy will be kept open for public. Anyone can approach him without any hesitation.

Present on this occasion were Padmashree Mujtaba Husain, Dr. Shujaat Ali Rashid and the brother-in-law of Dr. Ausaaf Sayeed, Mr. Syed Raziullah.
