(Siasat News) Poor women can improve financial condition of their households. When the financial position of the family improves, they can concentrate on their children’s education. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat expressed these ideas while distributing sewing machines to poor women at a function held at Mahboob Hussain Jigar Hall, Siasat office yesterday. There were 600 applicants. 61 poor women were selected on the basis of draw.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that the financial condition of the women o f the old city is very poor. He said that efforst will be made to give sewing machines to all the applicants. Other philanthropists will also be persuaded to contribute to this scheme. He said that this scheme was started from Moghalpura and it will be extended further. Training will also be provided in cloth cutting, designing, Mehendi, Fabric works etc. The presence of a large number of women shows that they want to improve their financial condition.
The first name in the draw was of Ms. Farhath Begum of Ranmastpura. She was present in the gathering. All the women whose names were drawn and those who were present in the function were given sewing machines.
Mr. Mustafa Ahmed, Chief Accountant of Siasat supervised the proceedings of the function.
Present on this occasion were Mr. Mohammed Haji, Mr. Rasheeduddin Rasheed, Social activist and Mr. Abdus Sattar Mujahid. Mr. Abdul Quddoos assisted Mr. Mustafa Ahmed. All those women whose names were drawn and who were not present yesterday can obtain sewing machines from Siasat office today on production of the proof of their identification. Mr. Muneer Ahmed, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hameed, Mr. Shaik Mohiuddin and Mr. Mohammed Javeed Aamer also assisted in the distribution programme.
