Zahed Ali Khan stresses the need for separate ministry for NRIs

During his presidential address at the felicitation programme held here at Old Press Club Basheer Bagh, Siasat editor Mr. Zahed Ali Khan said ‘according to Sachar Committee report Muslims are in more miserable condition than Dalits and other backward classes. In this situation formation of Telangana and measures taken by TRS government for the welfare of Telangana Muslims soon after coming to power, have offered a ray of hope for Muslims waiting for justice for 60 years.

Deputy Chief Minister Telangana Mr. Muhammad Mahmood Ali attended as chief guest in the function held in honour of Mr. Arif Quraishi president Bazm-e-Osmania Jeddah Indian Cultural Society. Prof. S A Shukoor Director Telangana Urdu Academy, S former Indian ambassador for Saudi Arabia Mr. Kamaluddin Ahmed, former director general Doordarshan Mr. Manzoor ul Ameen and others addressed the occasion.

Mr. Zahed Ali Khan presented the shawl to noted NRI Arif Quraishi and Mr. Muhammad Mahmood Ali presented him the memento. Mr. Zahed Ali Khan said that more than 5 lakh families are counted among NRIs. He urged Mr. Mahmood Ali to seriously resolve the problems faced by Telanganaites working in gulf countries. He stressed the need to introduce NRI ministry and department in Telangana on par with Kerala. It would not only pave the way for investment from gulf countries but also help in effective resolution of problems faced by the NRIs.
