A heartrending report about victim of domestic violence was published in Siasat daily. Bibi John’s husband cut off her hands. The tear-jerking report evoked huge response from across the world and philanthropists sent funds. Rs. 4.77 lakh was deposited into the woman’s account. On the direction of editor Siasat Mr. Zahed Ali Khan, Rs. 1.5 lakh each were deposited in the bank accounts of Bibi John’s daughter and son’s account. Rs. 70 thousand were given to the family to open a Kirana store.
Waqf Board chairman Khusro Pasha allotted a plot of 100 sqyd in Prakasham district. Rs. 1 lakh will be spent on the construction of house.
Later editor Siasat Mr. Zahed Ali Khan handed over the deposit certificate of Rs. 3 lakh which have been fixed in syndicate bank in the name of Bibi John’s children. On the occasion Mr. Zahed Ali Khan offered to take responsibility to admit the children into a standard hostel however Bibi John told that the boy is very small she will accept the offer when he will reach 7 years of age.
