YSR’s sympathy wave has faded: TG Venkatesh

Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh on Sunday said that the sympathy wave of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would not work out for YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy in the by-elections to be held for 18 Assembly constituencies in the state.

Talking to media persons after participating as chief guest during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Vanguluru Seetamma Nityannadana choultry at Mutyalareddypalem in Chittoor district, Venkatesh said that the sympathy wave would not help Jagan Mohan Reddy for a long time and there was a change in the mindset of people after the CBI filing charge sheet against him in connection with disproportionate assets case.

Stating that the State might break into pieces if YSR Congress party win the by-elections, he appealed to the voters to exercise their vote in favour of Congress to keep the State united. He said that the Congress party has to plan an effective strategy to win the by-elections and take the government’s welfare schemes and programmes to the doorsteps of people. (INN)
