Stating that TDP leader Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer “Legend” contains political dialogues and likely to influence the voters, the YSR Congress Party filed a petition before the Election Commission to suspend the screening of the film till the elections are completed in the State.
Following the complaint, a five-member team from the Election Commission viewed the “Legend” in Prasad Labs on Thursday. The EC officials are likely to submit a report to the State Chief Election Officer Bhanwar Lal about the film.
It may be mentioned here that Nandamuri Balakrishna is contesting from Hindupur Assembly constituency in Anantapur district. As the stage is set for conduct of polling in Telangana on April 30 and Seemandhra region on May 7, the YSRCP requested the EC to prohibit screening of the “Legend” film till the elections are over in both the new States.
