YSRCP Racing Towards Joining Congress: Somireddy

TDP senior leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy today said that YSRCP president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who once vowed to “fight to the last” with the “foreign lady” was racing towards merging his party with the Congress to wriggle himself from the Illegal Assets case. He also reminded that erstwhile megastar and Praja Rajyam party founder K. Chiranjeevi, who had pledged to remove “Dhotis” of Congress leaders had conveniently joined the ruling party for posts and benefits.

Addressing mediapersons at the NTR Bhavan, Somireddy questioned the sagacity of the Congress leaders in transferring the CBI SP and public prosecutors from the Jagan’s case at a crucial time. Stating that there was no incident of the government providing legal assistance to the accused ministers in the country’s history, he pointed out that Jaganmohan Reddy had announced that his party would vote for the Congress nominee in the Presidential election.

He also alleged that YS Vijayalakshmi filed a petition in the High Court against Naidu’s assets only after meeting Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar in Delhi. These incidents clearly shows that the YSR Congress Party would be merged with the Congress, he added. (NSS)
