The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Sunday accused YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy of trying to sabotage the Telangana movement.
Addressing a press conference here, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao alleged that Jagan along with Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leaders has hatched a conspiracy to engineer communal riots which could delay the formation of Telangana State. Referring to the recent developments of MIM snapping its ties with the ruling Congress party and its leaders delivering alleged provocative speeches, he said that all these developments were aimed at sabotaging the statehood movement.
Tarakama Rao also alleged that former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy engineered communal riots to dethrone the then Chief Minister Dr Marri Chenna Reddy and his son Jagan was following his footsteps by using MIM leaders.
The Sircilla MLA’s statement is all set to ignite strong reactions from both the YSR Congress Party and the MIM. It may be mentioned that MIM president and Hyderabad MP has tried to link the cases of Akbaruddin Owaisi’s alleged hate speeches to Telangana movement by stating that BJP was trying to become powerful even before the formation of separate State. However, by linking MIM leader’s speeches with the YSR Congress party, the TRS is trying to counter two political opponents in one go.
Meanwhile, Tarakarama Rao also warned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy against the proposed increase in the power tariff.
