YSRCP MLAs held for protest outside Assembly

The YSRCP MLAs, including party’s honorary president YS Vijay Lakshmi, were arrested by Hyderabad City Police when they staged protest near Gate No 1 of State Legislative Assembly.

The YSRCP MLAs came out of the Assembly after they were suspended for a day from the House for disrupting the House to stall debate on Telangana Bill. However, they were taken into custody when they tried to stage a road blockade near Ravindra Bharathi. The MLAs were then taken to Goshamahal Police Station.

Making a mention in the House, TDP MLA D Narendra condemned the arrest in the House. Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was on the chair when he made this mention. However, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy made a statement clarifying that the YSRCP MLAs were arrested near Ravindra Bharathi for disrupting the traffic movement and not in the Assembly premises.

Reacting to minister’s clarification, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu said that they got information that the YSRCP MLAs were arrested near Assembly’s media point. (INN)
