YSRCP files petition in SC against defections

The YSRCP filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Friday against the party defections. He included 16 YSRCP MLAs, who joined the TDP recently, as respondents. The YSRCP also mentioned in its petition that Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was not initiating any action against the defecting MLAs. He urged the Court to initiate action against the defectors immediately. The Petitioner and YSRCP Floor leader in the Lok Sabha told the Court that YSRCP approached the Court just because the Speaker’s inaction.

He also asked the Court to initiate action against the defecting MLAs similar to Uttarakhand State and requested the Court to declare the MLAs, who shifted their loyalties to another party, as ineligible. (NSS)
